Can I put a floor in myself

If you are planning to put in a wooden floor you must make sure it is a floating floor. That means the floor is not attached directly to the concrete floor and does not touch the skirting boards. Put in an underlay for insulation before you lay your new floor. This also makes it easier to remove it should you want to take it with you to a new home. If you prefer soft flooring, such as carpet or vinyl, never nail the material to the floor as this may cause damage to cables. Please note that tile flooring is not allowed for noise nuisance reasons.
