Minor work
You don’t need to ask our permission to carry out small jobs, such as boring a hole or painting a wall. But do realise that at the end of your tenancy, you must hand back your home in a reasonable state of repair. This means walls must be returned to their original colour, and screws and wall plugs should be removed and the holes filled.
Major alterations
If you want to carry out major work on your home, such as adding a roof light or removing a wall, you will need our permission first. The same applies if you want to make changes to the exterior of your home, like placing a satellite dish. This means we can monitor the quality of the work and materials which are used, so we know the property is in good condition when rented to the next tenant.
